A fellow Bidayuh suggested " ..If you want real Bidayuh/Dayak unity kick out all the dead woods. Put in fresh blood. Courageous young blood. Put in people who are prepared to put up a big fight. Put up people who are not afraid of failure. After all you yourself say that "We all owe this to our future generations". So why, the ancient generation are unwilling to make way for the future generation then?".
Every time a Bidayuh or Iban politician gives a speech, he will never fAIL to remind us to remain united and a load of other rubbish like we have to change our ways, etc. Very basik and big time hypocritical talk, lah. All of those Bidayuh politicians in PBB, SNAP, PBDS, SUPP, STAR, SPDP, DAP, PAS, MIC, MCA,etc .. talking about Bidayuh Unity. They are supposed to lead and unite us!! It's high time they upgraded their rating on our intelligent and stop trying to bribe us with a bowl of kolo mee! We, the ordinary Bidayuh have realised that the civil service, the private sector, the political arena, etc, are very hostile to a Bidayuh. A Bidayuh has to really struggle just to get by if he/she is a civil servant, or a kedai makan waittress, or a construction worker, etc. By the way, why is that it is a double whammy if a Bidayuh worker happens to have a Bidayuh as a boss.
My point is I don't have any problem with a Bidayuh politician or leader. The ones that make me feel like committing murder are thoes who mock my intelligent by lecturing me about Bidayuh unity, that there is equal opportunity for the Bidayuh community, ..... Cakap tidak serupa bikin.
My advice to fellow Bidayuhs :
1. give your children a good education
2. do not despair - we all have our roles to play no matter how small
3. remain united even though our wakil rakyats are doing their best to doom us.
4. learn fast and well from the Chinese, the Malays, the Melanos, etc.
Decency is thriving but you need to look.
5. share you thoughts, experience, opportunities, etc. and you can start in this forum.
